SIW offers rides throughout the year. During the touring season (March through mid October), you can often find up to 4 rides per day.
Find a ride that suits your riding needs (distance, speed, hills, etc.) by viewing our ride schedules. These are published every two months.
If you have any questions at all - feel free to contact the ride captain for each ride. They will be more than happy to give you directions or any other information you may need. Really!

Bring a bike in good working order and always wear a helmet - they are required on all SIW rides.
Other items you may want include cycling gloves, a water (sport drink) bottle, sunglasses, etc. After a few rides you will discover which cycling extras are important for you to have. Talk to other riders and feel free to ask a lot of questions!
I'm not very fast - will I get left behind?
Have no fear! Ride captains will ride with the slowest and/or new riders. (Look for rides on the ride schedule that are listed as (med)ium support).
If you haven't been on a bike for a while or you are just looking for a relaxed pace and distance, be sure to check out our "Slow Spokes" schedules: great rides and great people - they will never leave you behind!
If you're looking to be a bit more assertive, a "Wheelmen" ride will offer you the opportunity to go farther and faster. Again, check with the ride captain if you're not sure the ride is right for you.
SIW offers cyclists everything from leisurly touring to fast workouts. Many members are also involved in long distance riding, mountain biking, and even road racing.
